02/13/2016 Officers conducted a traffic stop on a white SUV bearing Michigan registration. The driver was identified as a student. Officers detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located a clear glass bong with residue and a clear glass jar containing 22 grams of marijuana. The student was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Additionally, he was cited for headlights required. This case has been referred to Student Development for review.
02/13/2016 Officers responded to Woodlawn Ave. due to a fire alarm. A student advised that the smoke detector started beeping, and he decided to turn the black knob on the bottom of the smoke detector to see if that would silence the beeping. SFD reset the system.
02/15/2016 Officers were dispatched to E. Campus Dr. on a report of a two-vehicle accident. A staff member was driving a Wittenberg-owned vehicle northbound on E. Campus Dr. in the middle of the road. A student was northbound on E. Campus Dr. operating a vehicle and attempted to pass the staff members vehicle on the right. The vehicles collided, causing damage.
02/16/2016 Officers were dispatched to W. College in reference to an odor of marijuana. A student advised that from inside her apartment she could smell marijuana. Officers searched the immediate area and observed drugs and drug paraphernalia in plain sight through a window of one of the other apartments. After several unsuccessful attempts to get an answer, the student opened the door, [and] an odor of marijuana emanated from within the apartment. The student admitted to using marijuana within the last half-hour. A non-student was also inside the residence. Officers recovered several drug paraphernalia items, as well as a number of un-identified pills. This incident has been referred to Student Development for review.
02/16/2016 Officers were dispatched to Myers Hall on a report of a fire alarm. Upon arrival, the reporting officer observed that there was no audible or visible alarm active. The panel indicated “Common Trouble Act, horns strobes 3rd & 4th, sounder bases 2nd & 3rd.” Physical Plant was contacted, and members of Physical Plant reported to Myers to fix the alarm.
