Officers observed a vehicle run a stop sign and nearly strike a police cruiser on East College Avenue. Officers initiated a traffic stop and identified the operator. The operator was found to be under suspension and intoxicated and was cited for the infractions.

Officers observed a vehicle driving erratically and at a high rate of speed on North Plum Street. The passenger was identified as a non-student and was found to have an outstanding warrant. The non-student was taken into custody and transported to jail.
02/05/2013 @ 12:45 a.m.
Officers were dispatched to Firestine Hall regarding the smell of marijuana. Officers attempted to contact the room’s resident. When no answer was received, officers requested to check the student’s welfare which was granted by the dean of staff. Officers found the room empty but located a green leafy substance in plain sight on the window sill.

Officers responded with Springfield Fire to Keller Apartments for an activated smoke alarm. The alarm was found to have been triggered by a faulty toilet in an upstairs apartment that had caused water to seep into the smoke detector in the apartment below it. Physical Plant was called for repairs.
02/06/2014 @ 10:27 p.m.
Officers met with a student in reference to an unknown male attempting to enter their vehicle. The male was described as dressed in black. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
02/07/2014 @ 10:52 a.m.
Officers investigated a reported fire at Firestine Hall in the third floor men’s bathroom. An unknown person ignited several paper towels on fire. Based on witness accounts the incident was narrowed to have occurred between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The incident remains under investigation.
02/08/2014 @ 2:40 a.m.
Officers were dispatched to McMurray’s Bar in reference to recovering three fake I.D.’s. The items were turned in after the establishment had closed.
02/08/2014 @ 11:14 p.m.
Officers were dispatched to a residence on North Fountain Avenue in reference to a loud party. There were approximately 300 people including individuals visible on the roof. As officers disbanded the party they located people on every floor including the attic. Several dean’s citations were issued.
