Despite the rain, hundreds of people, including a number of Wittenberg students and faculty, gathered in downtown Springfield on Saturday for "Hands Off," a national day of action. The goal: to protest President Donald Trump and DOGE leader Elon Musk's actions and agenda. Signs read "Dump Trump," "I will not be silent! This is a coup!" and "Grannies for Good Government." The gathering was one of over a thousand similar rallies held across the country.
