Through the Lens: Tigers on the mound

Rayne James

Welcome to another edition of Through the Lens, where you will find all of your sports content for Wittenberg through the lens of my camera, showing live content of Witt athletes, records, interviews and statistical information needed to know about the team or individual players.

The team being showcased in this edition is the Wittenberg Baseball team. Witt Baseball is strong team, thanks to the plentiful talent on their roster; with prominent players like Xander Rodriguez, Rocco Royer, Parker Gryskevich, Nate Floyd and more. These Tigers are looking to take the NCAC conference by storm this season with a current record of 16-5 out of 21 games (0.762).

For the remainder of the regular season, they have 19 games left to go. They currently have a hot streak of five wins, their latest being against Otterbein University. Witt's fiercest competitors thus far in the conference is the College of Wooster, Denison University, and Wabash College, whom they will compete against later this season. Looking at the standings of these four teams, it is expected that these games will be important ones in order to win overall and would make a statement following a possible playoff run for Wittenberg. Judging by these standings, the closest matchup will be against rival Denison, who is currently 17-4 overall and 3-1 in the NCAC conference.
