Torched Tracks

Welcome to Torched Tracks! Here is where you can find some of the top trending songs from the billboard hot 100, music and entertainment news, and some album or song reviews from your resident music man Rayne.

Hot 100 Chart

First is our weekly top 10 chart sourcing from Billboard Hot 100. If you are unfamiliar with Billboard, Billboard is considered as the "world's premier music publication" that publishes weekly charts, including world-renowned Billboard Hot 100 which is used to chart the top ten songs every week from the United States and international.

For this weeks national top 10 sourcing from Billboard, we have:

1.  Luther - Kendrick Lamar ft. SZA

This marks Kendricks 19th week with his song Luther lasting the Hot 100 chart from his recent album GNX. With a recent release of the Luther music video, it is not surprising to see this song continuing to get the love it deserves to stay atop of the charts for another week.

2. Die With A Smile - Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars

33 weeks running for this song with Bruno and Lady Gaga! Even if this song is not making top of the charts as it once had, I would not be surprised if this song continues to be in the top 10 weeks later because of its international fame.

3. Nokia - Drake

This song has made a pretty large jump since the previous week, going from #7 to #3 on the Hot 100. Nokia has lasted within the top 10 for 7 weeks so far, and judging by its recent jump on the charts I expect to see this song staying in the top 10 for a while longer.

4. A Bar Song (Tipsy) - Shaboozey

5. Pink Pony Club - Chappell Roan

6. Lose Control – Teddy Swims

7.  APT. – ROSE & Bruno Mars

8. Just In Case - Morgan Wallen

9. I’m The Problem – Morgan Wallen

10. Birds of a Feather – Billie Eilish

Music News

This entire weekend was filled with music and tons of festivities from Coachella, with notable names like Travis Scott, who was the biggest headline this year, Lady Gaga, Yeat, and GloRilla. Even historic musical names like Three 6 Mafia, Missy Elliot, and T-Pain showed out in this year's lineup.

With Travis Scott being the biggest headline for this year's musical festivities, Jumpman Jack has fully redesigned a part of Coachella for his set, having decor and activities that involve Scott’s branding for the love of his fans. From having mounted-designed motorcycles to a small shop for tattoo parlors, to a giant bear that resembles Scott’s designs, Travis Scott made a reimagined look of the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert.

Coachella is without a doubt the biggest music festival of the year, so for big name artists like Travis to preview new music on one of the biggest music stages in the world, the exposure is huge. Travis Scott previewed two new songs that are most likely to become either upcoming singles or a part of his anticipated album coming out. The details of the name or release date are still unknown.

Album Review: Melody of a Memory - Eem Triplin

I took the time to listen to Eem Triplin’s new album released this year. I only have a few words to say about this album.

I love it.

This album brings forth the creativity and sound that fans who have already known about this artist yearned for. A bouncy sound with great hooks and features that compliment his musicality, this album is truly an enjoyable album from beginning to end. I hope Triplin continues to expand and strengthen his sound that he’s truly capable of, along with the due recognition he deserves as other bigger name artists in due time.

Standout songs from the album:

1 – Came In It

2 – If We Being Honest

3 – FIJI (feat. Cruza) *first released as a single*

4 – 23

6 – Out Miami (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)

9 – MISS ME?

10 – CRAZY H*ES

12 – On And On

13 – Kingdom Of Hearts

Song of the Week

Song: FEELINGS ON SILENT - Leon Thomas feat. Wale

With a sweet but familiar melody that begins the song, this song by Leon Thomas that is on his recent album “MUTT” released last year, this song is very melodic and mellow but brings forth a lot of power in the lyricism and tunes from both Leon Thomas and Wale. I personally feel Wale was a perfect choice for this song, given some of his own most notable songs and penmanship. Time seems to have rendered Wale less than relevant and people tend to forget just how great of an artist he is. Leon Thomas took care of the chorus of the song, but that was all Thomas needed to create a beautiful hook to this piece of music.
