The Wittenberg Torch (hereafter referred to as “we” or “the Torch”) reserves the right to make grammatical, verbal and content changes and edits to any piece submitted by an author, subscriber, photographer, special to the Torch or guest author. Content includes any written, photographic, video, or visual work submitted to www.thewittenbergtorch.com (hereafter referred to as “the website” or “website”) via the “post” or “gallery” sections of the WordPress author page. Any content may be subject to edits or revisions by any member of the editorial staff or any intern appointed by the editorial staff.

The Torch reserves the right to edit, un-publish, re-publish, remove or delete any user or author content before or after its date of publication. An author may request to have their content removed from the website at any time after its publication.

Interview Privacy Policy

The Torch reserves the right to retain any interview, defined as an exchange of information between a staff member of the Torch, as defined by the Constitution of the Wittenberg Torch, and a respondent party, during or after its completion. Pursuant to Ohio Rev. Code 2933.52 (B)(4), individuals may be photographed, filmed, recorded or quoted without their consent and may be subject to public visibility without their consent.

With the consent of the Torch Editorial Board (hereafter referred to as “the board” or “editorial board”), as defined by the Constitution of the Wittenberg Torch, and pursuant to Ohio Rev. Code 2741.09 (A)(3), the Torch reserves the right to ensure the anonymity of any participant parties in an interview, during or after its completion. Pursuant to Ohio Rev. Code 2933.52 (B)(1), the Torch will only rescind anonymity in compliance with an interception warrant, as defined by Ohio Rev. Code 2933.53.

Content Subject Permissions

Pursuant to Ohio Rev. Code 2741.09 (A)(3), individuals photographed, reported on or mentioned in an article, caption, headline or social media post may be subject to public visibility without their written consent.

Pursuant to Ohio Rev. Code 2933.52 (B)(4), individuals may be photographed, filmed, recorded or quoted and may be subject to public visibility without their written consent.

User-Generated Comments

Comments posted to the website may be subject to review, removal, or delay in publication. The Torch reserves the right to delete or prevent from publication any comment from the website at any time before or after the comment is made public. The Managing Editor of the Torch, as defined in the Constitution of the Wittenberg Torch, has full discretion in the publishment of any comment but will approve all comments unless they are blatantly offensive, irrelevant or contain inflammatory sentiments directed at other commenters or the author of the content. All members of the editorial board, as defined by the Constitution of the Wittenberg Torch, may too reserve these rights.
