Q. What is your favorite part of your job?
A. It’s a really hard question to answer. Everyday my job is completely different from the previous day. It’s this change and ability to adapt to most situations that I really enjoy. Textbooks, Clothing, Gifts, Tradebooks, Organizations, Philanthropies, and Universities themselves are constantly changing and so the requirements of the bookstore change. It is my job to adapt to these needs and to find a way to solve the next challenge.Four years ago the concept of renting textbooks was foreign and I honestly thought how is this possibly going to work. Yet this fall Wittenberg students rented over 4,000 textbooks saving on average 50 percent. Last fall Wittenberg Student rented around 1,700 textbooks. This is a massive influx and in order to meet the demand it has required us to change and adapt very quickly. If I didn’t have this type of environment I don’t know that I could be happy or successful.
