madyOriginating from Plain City, Ohio, the 22-year-old women’s basketball senior Madyson Fogle went out for a kids basketball league in Dublin, Ohio, when she was just in the fourth grade. Since then, the basketball player everyone calls Mady or Mads has been in love with the game. While loving this aggressive game she has been playing for 13 years, Fogle also has a love for the color pink.
Q: What is your favorite thing about this sport?
A: I love the adrenaline and excitement you get when you play. I also love the competitiveness the game brings and how you can relate basketball to life in so many ways.
Q: How do you manage your academics and sport?
A: I’ve become very good at managing my time throughout the years. I always put my academics first, then basketball.
Q: What is your funniest basketball moment?
A: I wouldn’t say there’s a specific funny basketball moment. But there are funny memories I’ve made with my teammates throughout the years.
Q: What has been your favorite part of your senior year with this team?
A: My favorite part of my senior year with this team is watching how much we’ve grown in the past year, and the friendships I’ve made.
Q: What were the most points you’ve ever scored in a game?
A: I think I scored 10 my junior year in college, and I scored over 20 in a couple [of] high school games.
Q: Who is your favorite basketball player and why?
A: My favorite player is Candace Parker. I grew up watching her as a kid and always enjoyed her playing style.
Q: If you could meet any basketball player, who would it be and why?
A: If I could meet any basketball player, it would be Michael Jordan because I love how he played and how much passion he has for basketball.
Q: What was the best game of your entire basketball career?
A: My best game would be my senior year when we played against Kenyon at home. Our starting point guard Riley McDonald was out, and I had to set up and run the team.
It was a great game, even though we lost. I feel like I grew as a player and leader during that game.
