Coming in second place on the 60-meter dash with the time of 7.96 and taking first place in the 4×200 relay with the time of 1:46.97 are the two events that helped senior track runner Brea Medlock earn the NCAC Athlete of the Week acknowledgement.
Medlock runs the 60-meter dash, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 4×1, 4×2 and 4×4 events. These events allowed her to stand out against other runners when being named NCAC Female Athlete of the Week.
Medlock is one of the many females that helped contribute to her team’s success at the Joe Banks Invite at Ohio Northern University on Feb. 8.
“I feel honored to have my accomplishments recognized for my performances over the weekend,” Medlock said.
Medlock is featured on the NCAC Instagram page that displays the athletes of the week for both men and women’s track and field.
The athletes that are chosen for that week are contacted and interviewed over the phone to discuss their accomplishments. The team also recognizes the individual(s) for their special recognition for that week.
Despite being acknowledged as Athlete of the Week, those individuals do not qualify to run any special meets.
