On a cool October Sunday, Wittenberg’s Field Hockey Team played against the Sewanee Tigers.

The Tigers from Wittenberg defeated the Sewanee Tigers 6-1.

There were five different players from Wittenberg who scored a goal during the game. Audrey Coler, ‘18, had two assists during the game. Blaine Donnelly, ‘19, scored twice in the game.

Sewanne was the first team to score a goal before the Wittenberg offense attacked. The first Wittenberg goal came from Coler as she was assisted by Riley Trexler, ‘18, to tie the game up at one apiece. Trexler scored shortly after, with the assist coming from Megan Niswonger, ‘21.

The first half of the game was pretty even as both teams were able to maneuver and create shots. During the second half, this is where Wittenberg kicked into high gear.

Donnelly started off the scoring with an assist from Coler, not once, but twice.

Channa Visseren, ‘21, and Katie Brown, ‘20, were the only players that scored unassisted goals.

Wittenberg field hockey’s next games are at Ohio Wesleyan on Oct. 4, back at home on Oct. 7 against Earlham and away at DePauw on Oct. 8.
