Over the last few weeks, the Tigers have been doing some amazing things in athletics. Take a look:
Martin Mora, ’19, was named NCAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week on Feb. 18 after winning all of his matches against Ohio Northern University and Centre College.
Alexis Gray, ’20, has been named NCAC Distance/Mid-Distance Athlete of the Week twice, first on February 18 and then on March 18. Currently, her time of 2:24.48 in the 800 leads the female runners.
Marteana Newton was named NCAC Sprints/Hurdles athlete of the week on March 18. She earned this by posting an NCAC leading 1:00.68 in the 400m dash.
Alexis Walker, ’22, was named the 2019 NCAC Indoor MVP for Sprint/Hurdles events and NCAC Newcomer of the Year on March 2 at the NCAC Indoor Championships. She finished the conference meet with first place finishes in the 60m dash, 200m dash and in the 4x400m dash with Marteana Newton, ’21; Taylor Barnhisel,’21, and Gray.
Hannah Eley, ’21, broke Witt’s weight throw record with a personal best of 15.57 meters at the NCAC Indoor Championships. This toss earned her a close second place finish as her weight fell ten centimeters behind the winner.
D’Anthony Dorsey, ’19, took home the March 18 NCAC Field Athlete of the Week by winning the hammer throw at the Muskie Duals, with a toss of 49.24m. This mark currently leads the NCAC. Dorsey also heaved the shot put 12.33m to take home a third-place finish.
Connor Seipel, ’20, was named to D3Hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region First Team on March 11 with the NABC Great Lakes All-District Second Team award, followed up by an All-Great Lakes Region honors.
Josee Clayton,’21, was named NCAC Women’s Lacrosse Athlete of the Week on March 11.
Madi Wolters, ’20, was named NCAC Women’s Golf Athlete of the week on March 11.
Colin Laszlo, ’19, was named NCAC Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week on March 11.
