Officers were dispatched to Firestine Hall in reference to a student who had slipped and fell on the sidewalk at an off-campus house. The student had a minor abrasion to his/her right knee.
02/09/2014 @ 3:56 p.m.
Officers were dispatched to the HPER Center in reference to a fire alarm. The panel indicated the pull station was activated by an errant volleyball.
02/10/2014 @ 5:54 p.m.
Officers were dispatched to meet with a student who stated that he/she had fallen on ice in front of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house. The student was diagnosed with a ligament injury to his/her elbow.
02/11/2014 @ 10:29 p.m.
Officers met with a student regarding a suspicious voicemail, stating that a male subject had been watching her while she practiced her instrument in Kreig Hall. It was later discovered that the call had been made by a friend as a prank.
02/13/2014 @ 5:50 p.m.
Officers received an anonymous tip in reference to a WFF employee possibly being under the influence of marijuana or in possession of marijuana while working. Officers conducted an investigation and found no evidence of this behavior.
02/14/2014 @ 1:01 a.m.
Officers observed a vehicle on Park Place Avenue fail to use a turn signal and initiated a traffic stop. Officers found a multitude of drug paraphernalia and two bags of heroin in the vehicle. The drive also had a warrant for heroin possession out of Montgomery County. The driver was arrested and placed in the Clark County jail.

The Springfield Police Division responded to a crash involving a Wittenberg University Police cruiser. The crash occured at the intersection of North Lowery Avenue and West McCrieght Avenue. The officer was stopped at a stop sign when another vehicle failed to negotiate a right turn and struck the cruiser. Both parties were uninjured.
02/14/2014 @ 11:20 p.m.
Officers observed a driver attempt to flee the scene at a crash on North Wittenberg Avenue. Officers were able to initiate a traffic stop and the driver was identified as a student. Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the driver’s window. Two other student were located inside the vehicle. The driver failed multiple sobriety tests and was cited into municipal court for the infractions. The two passengers were issued Dean’s Summons for drug use.
