The Wittenberg men’s lacrosse team annihilated North Coast Athletic Conference opponent Hiram 21-0 on Saturday.  The Tigers made the most of their trip, jumping ahead early and never looking back.
Wittenberg entered the match at (7-2) overall and (1-1) in conference play.  It looked to be an easy match, as Hiram came into the contest at (2-6) overall and (0-2) in the NCAC.  The Tigers led 7-0 after the first quarter and 12-0 at halftime.  The contest was decided long before the final buzzer sounded, as the Tigers were in control the whole game.
Will Stocker, Jordan Shoger and Matt Hugdahl each recorded a hat trick, with Shoger leading the team with three assists.  Jack Bornhofen, T.J. Smith and Quinn McKeown all scored two goals in the contest.  Andrew Fuss, Jeff Sherman, Sean Kelleher, Zach Shy, Reid O’Neil and Ryan Spitzer all scored for the Tigers.  Spitzer led the team with seven groundballs, followed by David Strahm with six.
The Tigers have a big week ahead of them, as they host Oberlin on Tuesday, April 8 and Denison on Saturday, April 12.  A pair of wins would put the team in great position to make the NCAC Tournament and possibly go farther.
