It was a battle of Tigers when the DePauw Tigers came to town on Oct. 7 to face our Tigers on the volleyball court.  The Wittenberg Tigers came in with 13 wins overall and three losses.  The Tigers put their perfect record in conference play on the line.   The game was won in four sets and each set was a hard fought victory.
The first set looked like it was going to be taken easily by Wittenberg after they went up 13 to nine, but the visiting Tigers from DePauw clawed back to trade points with Wittenberg.  The set was won 25 to 19 by Wittenberg.  The second set was even closer, but the result was the same: a Wittenberg victory, 25 to 23.  The third set was lost to the visiting DePauw Tigers, 21 to 25.  The last set was easily handled by the host Tigers and won by a score of 25 to 11.
There were several Tigers that were in in double digits in kills: junior Kara Seidenstricker, sophomore Kendall Farmer, and junior Kristina Fultz with 13, 10 and 10, respectively.  Defense was also very prevalent in the game.  Senior Kiah Murray recorded a career high 31 digs, with Seidenstricker adding 17.  Fultz and Melissa Emming, ’16, each added 15 digs, while senior Megan Vodopich contributed 14.
The women’s volleyball team improved their record to 14 and three, and remained undefeated in conference play, improving to five wins and zero losses.  The team looks to remain perfect in conference play with only three conference games left.
