As the school year draws to a close and campus falls into its semi-annual finals panic, students may feel the urge to get off campus, either for another place to study or for a place to relax. Less than 15 minutes walking distance from the Student Center, Coffee Expressions, LLC., boasts an impressive collection of both pastries and coffees that will fulfill student needs.
Although the outside of the shop is quite unimpressive with a plain brick building and the inside is a tad bit crowded, finding a space for relaxation is always available inside. Although the tables are close together, they each have their own individuality, making the space seem far more open than it actually is.
Located on the corner of the building complex, the window to the left of the entrance provides an unbeatable view out into North Plum Street, making for the perfect spot to set up while students are at the shop. Students will find it easy to relax with the comfortable atmosphere and the smell of coffee, as well as the addition of a television in the shop’s right-hand corner
The employees at Coffee Expressions make the experience, however. All share the same warming smile and grateful attitude, making for a truly pleasant experience. As the business is locally-owned, students will feel easy supporting the employees.
Once inside, the counter and menu practically smack you in the face. Behind the counter resides the shop’s menu, featuring everything students might expect to find at a coffee shop, including espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, herbal teas, iced teas, fruit smoothies and more. Each drink speaks volumes, marked by individual tastes.
Another feature of Coffee Expressions is its incorporation of other locally owned businesses, much like the shop itself. One of the consistently residing businesses is Unbelievable Bakery, offering a daily selection of cookies, brownies, blondies and more, making for the perfect complement to a student’s drink.
Located at 1111 North Plum Street, Coffee Expressions has hours for both the early risers and the “late nighters.” The shop is open weekdays from 6:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. The location also boasts a close proximity to both Domino’s and Burger King, making a snack or meal a close convenience.
As students hit the final stretch of the semester and need a local place off-campus to relax or study, then Coffee Expressions is the place to make sure students head off to with its delicious offerings and relaxing environment.
