This past week, Wittenberg’s Career Services and Student Senate co-sponsored “Adulting 101: For Seniors,” an event focused on preparation for life after Wittenberg.
The event offered advice regarding jobs, resumes and networking. Students were also able to enjoy free pizza in Ness Auditorium. Wendy Smiseck of Career Services talked specifically about utilizing the resources Wittenberg has to offer to prepare for life after graduation in the spring. Part of the discussion was based around reviewing cover letters for resumes. The Wittenberg Tiger Den Job Board was also covered, as students were able to learn and address many aspects of post-graduate life.
The Wittenberg Tiger Den Job Board is a resource on campus for students. On the web page, employers can put out information on jobs they need filled. Students can then put in a resume or wade through the different options that are available on the job market that are within their qualifications. The resource also allows students to research companies that are involved.
Senior class president, Mecca Abdul-Aziz, ‘18, was one of the few to attend saying, “Attendance was poor but I’m happy with those who came. I wish more would take advantage of the free career help.”
