National Women’s Day was March 8, and the Hispanic community of Wittenberg celebrated it with a series of posters in Hollenbeck promoting dozens of historical Hispanic, Latina and Chicana women throughout history.
Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, decorated these posters to honor decorated women like Sonia Sotomayor, an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court and only the third women to serve, or Lydia Villa-Komaroff, the third Mexican-American woman in the U.S. to receive a doctorate degree in the sciences and was the founder of The Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science.
These and many other women have changed America, and Wittenberg is proud to honor them this month.
