Q: What is the best way to get crunk at WittFest?
A: Ah, Wittfest—an annual celebration full of intoxicated students coming together for a day of fun. Students wait all year for this event, and it is finally here. So, let’s break this down to a few key elements to enjoy your Wittfest experience.
People
Spend your day with people you like to be surrounded by. Whether that be one individual, a smaller group of people or a large group, this is the final stretch of the school year and you and your friends deserve to have a great time together. The day will be filled with memories you may—or may not—remember the next day. I recommend taking photos throughout the day to see a progression of your Wittfest experience.
Environment
Bridge the gap. There are many events going on around campus from campus houses to the HPER Center to across from Kreig Hall on Woodlawn Ave. Use Alumni Way as a passageway to run into friends and peers throughout the day. Find a darty— “day party”— or two. Make sure to move around and get involved in as many activities as possible for the whole Wittfest experience.
Drinking
You drink, you drank and then you got drunk. Now you need food and water—Taco Bell anyone? The word on the street is that it is a campus favorite. Whatever your drunken craving is, make sure you have a designated driver or use an Uber to satisfy your craving. Basically, stay hydrated and eat food throughout the day. You all know a good balance between fun and dangerous.
Events
Check out the variety of Union Board events on campus throughout the day. There is everything from games, food, performances (students and more), raves and the main headliner: Waka Flocka Flame. Follow Union Board’s rules and expectations so you don’t miss these events that were put together just for you.
As a side note: Have fun but please be safe, take care of one another and take care of Witt’s campus. Make this Wittfest one for the books—that is your diary holding your best memories, your burn book or your book of untold stories.
