Baseball

Baseball split their weekend series with Allegheny, dropping the first game 6-2, before winning the second game 4-1. The Tigers’ overall record is 17-14, two weeks away from the NCAC Tournament on May 9-11. Baseball plays Wooster Wednesday at noon and 3 p.m. and Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday at noon and 3 p.m.

Men’s Tennis

Men’s Tennis beat Wabash 5-4 for a seventh-place finish at the NCAC Tennis Tournament in Indianapolis over the weekend. The Tigers finished the season with a 12-9 record, marking their first winning season since 2014.  

Women’s Tennis

Women’s Tennis finished sixth at the NCAC Tennis Tournament in Indianapolis over the weekend. The Tigers finished the season with an 8-10 record.

Men’s Lacrosse

Men’s Lacrosse lost 8-7 to Wooster on the road to close out the 2019 season. The Tigers ended the season with a 4-11 overall record.

Women’s Lacrosse

Women’s Lacrosse ended the 2019 season with a 22-1 win over the Hiram Terriers on Saturday. The Tigers ended their season with an overall record of 8-8.

Track and Field

Track and Field had back to back weekends of competition with the Wittenberg Invitational on April 19, and Denison’s Big Red Invitational. The men’s and women’s squads both placed third at the Wittenberg Invitational with team scores of 114.5 and 123.5 respectively.  The Tigers competed for the last time before the NCAC Championships, on May 3-4, at the Big Red Invitational. Stevie Plikerd (’22) earned All-NCAC Honors with her third-place finish at NCAC Outdoor Heptathlon on Sunday.  The Track and Field team will compete at the NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 3-4.

Women’s Golf

Women’s Golf tied for fifth place with DePauw at Illinois Wesleyan’s Spring Fling, scoring 316 after 18-holes. Devon Atchison (’19) and Madi Wolters (’20) were part of an eight-way tie for fifth in the individual standings with 18-hole scores of 76. Women’s Golf will next play at the NCAC Golf Championship in Mansfield, Ohio on May 3-5.

Men’s Golf

Men’s Golf took third place at Ohio Wesleyan’s Strimer Invitational, scoring 572 after two days of play. The team was led by Ryan Mallette (’20), with 138 points after 36 holes. Colin Laszlo (’19), Cameron Willis (’20), Cooper Tayler (’19) and Isaac Hartley (’19) rounded out the scoring players for Wittenberg. Men’s Golf will next play at the NCAC Golf Championship in Mansfield, Ohio.

Softball

Softball lost a doubleheader to Trine on Sunday, bringing their 2019 season record to 10-27-1. Abby Curnutte (’19) ended the season as the Tigers all-time home run leader with 18 career home runs.
