golf2golf3Wittenberg University women’s golf wrapped up the fall season by hosting the Pat Clouse invitational at home this week. The Tigers’ second place finish marked their lowest finish of the fall season. The Tigers can still boast of never having lost to a division III foe- as NAIA competitor Indian Tech was the only school which bested them this past weekend.
This fall saw the emergence of junior Macy Hubbard, who finished no lower than fourth as an individual at any tournament this fall. Hubbard tied for first after her two rounds this weekend, shooting 70 and 77 to bring her three above par for the tournament.
Senior Maggie Smith was also a big contributor to the team’s prolific fall, averaging five over par for the season and securing a first place finish in Wooster’s Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational. Senior Allie Lawwill (who joins Smith as a team captain) averaged 82.8 strokes in her 10 rounds this fall.
Of the five tournaments the Golf team played this fall, a Tiger at least tied for first in four of the clashes. The Tigers finished poised as the Top Ranked team in the Great Lakes region as they move into the Spring Season.
