Looking for a place to go off campus with great beer, music and a wide variety of food options? Then look no further than Mother Stewart’s Brewery in downtown Springfield.

Since its opening in 2016, Mother Stewart’s has been offering up a wide variety of beers at its location on the site of the old Springfield Metallic Casket Company.

The renovation has turned a once derelict structure into a vibrant space with a very large bar, ample indoor seating and even a small stage for musical acts and other performances. The improvements have extended beyond the building, however, and include a large beer garden with plenty of space for those wishing to enjoy the outdoors.

Rather than feature its own food menu, Mother Stewart’s instead features a wide selection of food trucks that rotate throughout the year. This system should give anyone a chance to find a great meal to go with their drink.

The brewery has also found itself to be quite a popular family destination as well, and children can often be found playing in the beer garden or drawing on the path with chalk. As such, Mother Stewart’s has begun offering its own root beer as an option for those who don’t want any alcohol.

This all comes at a cost though, and the beer is certainly not cheap at $5 a pint. However, anyone looking for quality over quantity will certainly be satisfied with this great downtown location.

Mother Stewart’s is located at 109 W. North Street in downtown Springfield and is open Wednesdays through Sundays with afternoon and evening hours.
