This year has been a year of changes in many ways for Wittenberg. Unfortunately, these changes have not all been easy to cope with; however, there are also many changes that are being put in place to help the campus.
Wittenberg’s NAMI on campus, the mental health club, is striving to bring change to the campus while focusing on mental health. This year, NAMI has already been active around campus by spreading awareness about suicide on World Suicide Prevention Day.
However, this is not all NAMI is bringing to campus; it is also starting its SHERES program.
SHERES is a judgement-free place where anybody on campus can come and talk about anything that is affecting their lives. The focus of this program is to help students realize that their problems are real and they are tough, but there is also a group of people on campus who want to help in any way they can.
Additionally, SHERES is led by students who understand the problems that people face going through college. If you are at all interested in joining the next SHERES Safe Space, please send an email to wittnami@wittenberg.edu. After doing so, you will receive an email back with information on the next SHERES session.
